Today we spent a fabulous day trekking with a Black H'Mong guide. It's a good job that we don't know what we are getting into before we sign up for these tours as I'm sure our good sense would tell us not to do it.
We trekked all morning through the Sa Pa mountains, across streams and up and down slopy slimy paths. Some were quite narrow, we had to act like mountain goats. Also we had to cross streams using bamboo bridges.
ASA I have the ability to post pictures I'll do so.
Cheers
Christopher: Is there a special meaning to rubbing Buddha's tummy?

The fat buddha is called the Laughing Buddha, modeled after a guy named Hotei who became enlightened (and so turned into a buddha). He's not the original one, though. BUT, rubbing HIS tummy brings good luck. Why? Reasons probably depend on who you ask...the stomach is the seat of the soul; his tummy is so big because he "swallows" the worries of the world; big tummy is a sign of prosperity and so rubbing it might transfer some of that to you...etc.
